Cryogenic Submersible Pump

Cryogenic submersible pumps are specifically engineered to handle the transfer of cryogenic liquids, such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, and liquid hydrogen. These pumps are designed to be submerged directly in the cryogenic liquid storage tank or vessel.
The pump consists of a motor and an impeller. The motor is hermetically sealed to prevent the ingress of cold and potentially explosive cryogenic vapors. The impeller, usually made of special alloys with high strength and low thermal expansion coefficients, is connected to the motor shaft. When the motor is energized, the impeller rotates at high speed, generating the necessary pressure to force the cryogenic liquid out of the tank through the discharge line. The pump housing is also constructed with materials that can withstand the extremely low temperatures of cryogenic liquids without losing their mechanical properties.

Cryogenic piston pump

Piston pumps are designated for conversion of motor mechanical energy into pumped fluid mechanical energy.
Pump fluid suction is caused by low pressure formation in a process chamber during a piston right motion and with closed discharge valve

Cryogenic piston pumps can be both of a single low-temperature section type and a multiple low-temperature section type.
Cryogenic piston pumps are used for buffer reservoir filling, cryogenic cylinder filling, as well as for industrial and medical bottle filling with gaseous products. It is reasonable to use pumps of such a type also in severe application (industrial application of LNG and CO2) where high pressure is a significant factor.
